Taylor Wimpey Central London

Located in central London, Westminster Quarter is the second phase of a significant apartment development built by McAleer & Rushe D&B Contractors for Taylor Wimpey Central London. Fronting onto Monck Street, Westminster Quarter consists of 102 apartments split among three blocks and arranged over a total of 8 floors rising above a basement car park.

White Ink were appointed by Taylor Wimpey Central London to review the planning approval and delivered additional capital value for the client, before being novated to the contractor.

Primarily faced in a buff brick, chosen to complement the existing fabric of the local area, the facades have been cleverly punctuated through subtle detailing within the brick and the use of dominant vertical elements containing enclosed private winter gardens.

It was important to White Ink that this scheme could maximise the impact that the sustainable aspects of the design could have while maintaining the buildings functionality. To that end White Ink worked closely with Taylor Wimpey Central London and McAleer & Rushe D&B Contractors in streamlining these aspects of the development to create a rounded scheme, whilst ensuring the original design intent conceived by Darling Associates Architects was retained in the process of construction.

The development has been designed in accordance with the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
